Indication:
Lexapro is an antidepressant used to treat acute anxiety in adults and for maintenance treatment of major depression in for people above 12 years old. Lexapro belongs to a group of drug called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRI.
How to take:
Lexapro should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. Dosage may be changed occasionally by the doctor to make sure of the effect of the drug release best results. Take each dose with a full glass of water during the same time per day. Lexapro may take 4 weeks or longer to take effect.
Precautions:
Inform the doctor of any medical history and maintenance medicine for pain, arthritis, fever, or swelling. Lexapro taken in combination with other drugs may cause bruising or bleeding easily. Avoid any alcoholic beverages as it may cause an increase of the side effects of Lexapro. Do not engage in activities that require mental alertness while on Lexapro therapy as it may cause sleepiness.
